When the Step Children’s “Rank” in the Family Changes
When 2 families come together and there are multiple children the “pecking order” can change up. The oldest may no longer be the oldest or the baby may no longer be the baby. While speaking to blended families on Good Morning America, Steve Harvey said what he did was to group the children together. For example, the 2 oldest children had the same privileges. This helps to create a bond between the step children as well as helps them accept the changes in their family.

Blended Families Have to Deal With Different Rules for Different Houses
It is very common for children in blended families to stay with their other bioparent during the weekend or holidays.There are different rules at each house and quite often the #StepChildren have difficulties following the rules. Steve Harvey suggests that you hold fast to your rules. Make sure that the step children know this is how it is going to be at our house and you MUST follow our rules.

Keep the Lines of Communication Open In Your Blended Family
